Longer days, distant smell of charcoal and the postman is in shorts! Winter has officially finished and Springtime is blooming! Summer is only around the corner and now is the time to get out in your garden (if you haven't been there before now) and make sure that it's the place in which you will want to spend the summer!
Your lawn will be in need of some attention right now. The wet winters we are coming to expect these days can leave us with huge amounts of moss coverage. Make sure you thoroughly rake the lawn over after treatment and improve drainage by scarifying with a fork after raking out. Lawns appreciate fertilizer late April or May. Make sure you give the lawn a really good cut and set the blades to cut at between 1-1.5 inches for regular hardwearing lawns (a little under 1 inch for finer more ornamental lawns). Make an effort to spot treat lawns to rid any perennial weeds. Hoe the lawns during dry weather to prevent weed seedlings establishing.
Fill your patio or back yard with colour! Terracotta pots stuffed with marguerite daisies can brighten up the garden in seconds without breaking the bank. Think ahead to the summer and start planting bulbs such as begonias to ensure extra summer flower colour.

In addition to the free quotation service, Tom Moore Landscaping has always offered a bespoke garden design service. Until recently, all designs were produced by Tom, but last year saw the beginning of a blossoming relationship with landscape architect Dan Houghton.
Dan has worked closely with Tom Moore Landscaping and has brought an innovative and contemporary edge to this personalised design service. He has designed some stunning gardens for many of our clients who have watched something 2 dimensional transcend into a living breathing garden! Prices start at £300 for a set of concepts which lead to a final master plan. A quotation for the garden construction is produced free of charge alongside.

Since the turn of the year we have seen a big change within the company. We have more than doubled the number of employees and are delighted to welcome Matthew Wild, Carl Roberts and Karl Harding on board! Together with Nick Smith, their arrival has precipitated the development of two teams within the company, allowing us to reduce our lead time to customers without compromising on the quality of the work undertaken. It has become clear that a presence on the web is absolutely vital these days, as the amount of client interest we have seen since the launch of or website is phenomenal. Thanks must go again to John and Amanda at Pocketsite Design, without whom, the web page would not exist!
